I’ll fill this out later. The following are rough notes:

I’ve put up this website, because I want to write about this topic—that we’ve bestowed on government an aura of divinity, and we’re made it a modern idol. There is enough material for at least one book on the subject, but I have other projects to do. So I plan to blog little bits over a period of time. Eventually, I hope to collect the material into a book.

So then, the question becomes: Why now? Why not earlier?

Because I was afraid. But I’m not afraid anymore, because…

1. The Conscience of Abe’s Turn: I thought my friends and family would be turned off by it. Rather, they told me how much they liked the way I write. My father read it through cover to cover. My wife said she couldn’t put it down and was frustrated that the next story in the series wasn’t ready yet.
2. The statists get their say from the pulpit. Why not me? Because I don’t believe the pulpit is the appropriate place, that’s why. Still, if they dare to preach statism from the pulpit, why should I be afraid of preaching it in the streets?
3. If they kick me out of my church, I know I’ll survive. If they kick me out for saying the truth in love, I should take it as a sign that this is no longer the church for me. There are other churches. And now, my friends and contacts are diversified enough that this will never be an issue.
